Who'd have guessed....

There are things I never thought I'd hear or say especially as a mother of girls... I mean... who'd have guessed some of these have even become regular phrases around my house.

1. ok, give me her body (when Lexi popped the dolls head off and ask Zoe to fix it)

2. I didn't pick my nose in class today! (Zoe, on her first day of preschool)

3. Put Baby Jesus Down! (Nativity set)

4. Put Lexi down! Just because you can cart her around doesn't mean you should. She is NOT doll!

5. Can you kiss my bottom? (on kissing owies)

6. Get your hand out of your pants

7. Get your foot out of your mouth! if you need your toenails cut tell me!

8. Tails are not for pulling (daily said about our cat, Peanut). There is even a book by this title.

9. Stop biting the cat! I have not seen a book by this title

10. Don't run over your sister, Go around!

11. Stop drinking out of the toilet!

12. Get your finger out of your nose now!

Our newest Pals

I heard once that all our kids really want from us is 5-10 minutes of our time. Honestly that's not a lot. I've sat through commercials longer then that, but still it can seem to be such a hassle, but I've been trying to sit down and give the kids that much of my time whenever they need it and honestly it's not all that much. I've noticed that when I give them that time then they can play by themselves for a while afterwards. So, along with this train of thought is doing more crafts or reading or baking or just something other then tv. So, today on this rainy Wednesday I sat down with Zoe and did a great craft that I recenly found on http://www.familyfun.com/ it's great. So, I'd like to introduce to our newest friends... The Peanut People and their pets!

Happy Spring!
So, Sunday was the first day of Spring! We had a blast spending some time outside and enjoying....... the weather?

Zoe and Patrick sledding!

Lexi's first sled ride ever!

I don't mind 4.4 inches of snow when it melts the next day and makes way for 60 degree days. We even had a picnic lunch with Patrick with snow still on the ground. It was great! Not ideal for the first day of Spring, but still good.

So much to catch up on...

So, we just spent a week in Texas, it was about 70+ degrees every day and then we went for 3 days in Iowa where it was really nice again- probably in the 50's when we were there and now back to Kansas on this the first day of spring and we were surprised with 4.4 inches of snow and it's still going. So, welcome home!

We had soo much fun again in Texas. The problem though with going back to a place we've already been is that we've pretty much already done all the kid things they have there. The trip down was horrible, though I will admit that the carseat trays were great, they were probably the best part of the trip down- well that and the rain that seemed to keep Lexi asleep for all but 3 hours of it. Though, the rain I don't think had such a soothing effect on our little carsick child, who managed to puke 3 times and then get a horrible earache that caused about an hour crying fit! Wow! So, needless to say I spent most of the week praying for a better trip home. We finally arrived and we spent the first evening at their mall play place as it was raining buckets on us.The next day we saw The Chipmunks- The squeakal and that was actually kinda cute. We returned to the Discovery Museum, but we stayed for about 4 hours this time and that was pretty much long enough. We even spent part of one day checking out the Baylor campus. It is a beautiful campus. We even visited the Baylor Bears- they were unfortunately asleep but still fun to see. We spent our last day at the zoo with Patrick and we all really enjoyed that. They have such a great zoo.

Then we got home after an uneventful trip- PTL! and got some laundry done and repacked to leave Sunday morning for Iowa. The trip up was great- no sickness though we did stop a lot more often then I usually do to avoid said sickness. Then I spent a wonderful 3 days with my sister and her family. Those nieces and nephew of mine are sure fun! We made it home on Tuesday night and then Wednesday morning in the chilly temperatures we made our way to the two hour St. Patrick's Day parade in all our green! The girls got about 3 bead necklaces each and some candy. Fun fun!

On Wednesdasy and Thursday we enjoyed a beautiful day in the 60's with some front porch sittin and then Friday I had a little girls night in with me and the girls as the snow came down.
That brings us to the first day of Spring and hopefully a little more caught up here on my blog!
Thanks for visiting with me

So much to do...

We've got soo much going on the next two weeks. First off, Lexi turns 2 on Saturday... no party though it was a huge debate in my mind weather to have one or not. The problem is she needs NOTHING. In fact, she has soo much stuff and keeps getting more everytime Zoe gets done with whatever toy she outgrows. It's great for Lexi. But not so great for people that need birthday ideas for her, so we've decided to just ask for money to go towards any future needs she might need. Plus, being two it's not like she'll be upset she doesn't have a party, so for simplicity's sake it'll just be the 4 of us. I think it'll be great, that and the fact that we leave two days later for Waco, it's really for the best.

I'm really looking forward to traveling to Waco, TX as it's a great city! The weather was great last time and hopefully will be again. We'll hope for the best. And then we'll be back on Friday late, so we don't miss out on Zoe's second Ballet class and then me and the girls leave again on Sunday with my dad to head up to Iowa for 3 days! I can't wait, though this is another great trip this much time in the car with the girls is always a challenge. The last time on the 10 hour trip I think I spent most of the time turned around in my seat picking up one thing or another or even part of the trip squeezed between the two car seats in the back. What a small space! But it did break up the arguing and fighting a little between them so maybe it was worth it. But this trip I've had a better idea. Did you know that they sell car seat travel trays? Well, I didn't know this, but they do and we've decided that if they work like they are supposed to they will be a great investment. Here's the picture of the ones that I bought for the girls. They have a TON of different options out there when it comes to car seat trays.... The concern was is it sturdy enough for coloring? Does it have sides so I'm not still picking stuff up? Will it not take up too much room along with all the other stuff the fills our back seats up? This one met all the requirements... just wished it wasn't so expensive, but it really wasn't any more expensive then any of the others out there.

So, there is hopefully the peacemaker for our car trip. We had talked about buying a DVD player for the car, but those cost a lot more then these little trays do and Lexi doesn't necessarily sit glued to the tv like Zoe would so there would still be lots of screaming trying to get Lexi to be quite for the movie. Plus this has pockets to hold stuff on the side too. It looks great! We'll see if it is and even more importantly I'm just hoping that they get here in time!
